The two friends were watching TV in the living room when suddenly, the screen flickered and went black. Sam grinned. “No way, the villain totally rigged the trap door.”
Just as they were debating what would happen next, the TV went dark. “What happened?” Lucy frowned. Before Sam could press a button, the screen lit up again, displaying glowing green text: “HELP ME.” Lucy’s eyes widened. “Is this part of the show?” she asked, half excited, half unsure. Then another message appeared: “TRAPPED IN THE BASEMENT. HURRY!”
Lucy jumped up, her voice filled with curiosity. “What if it’s real? We have to check the basement!” Sam hesitated but followed her, gripping a flashlight. The basement was dark and dusty. As Sam swept the light around, an old TV in the corner crackled to life, displaying: “BEHIND THE CABINET.” They pushed the heavy cabinet aside, revealing a locked door. The TV showed an image of a hook with a key. Lucy grabbed it, and Sam unlocked the door.
Inside was a glowing robot. “Thank you for freeing me,” it said. “I’m Z3-PO, a helper bot trapped here for decades.” And it didn’t move any more.
Years later, as robotics experts, Lucy and Sam decoded the chip inside Z3-PO and discovered blueprints for an AI robot that responded to kindness—a legacy from the day they answered the message.
